Double Sacred Offering at Izumo Taisha & Kitajima Kokusokan 2023 (2nd)

On the day of the new moon in Virgo,
following 2022, I made my second sacred offering at Kitajima Kokusokan and at the Haiden of Izumo Taisha.

One of the goals I had quietly envisioned
was to perform at Izumo Taisha with a “Crystal Bowl Orchestra.”

Crystal bowls are usually played solo, often improvised.
This time, we deliberately took on a “Crystal Bowl Mini-Orchestra,”
with six players each taking charge of their own notes,
playing the bass tones beneath the violin’s melody.

With saxophone and guitar joining in, it all became one harmony.
The second half of the performance was improvised, without a score.

In response to many requests, this year a limited number of guests were able to attend.
