What lies deep in the heart
For once, as befits an astrology lover… something about the stars.
On July 2 (July 3 in Japan), we had the new moon in Cancer 🌟
Cancer is the Moon’s home base (the sign ruled by the Moon),
so I wonder if many of you have had
a few days naturally themed on “facing your emotions.”
I myself, for no reason in particular, found myself remembering
painful things from the past that had hurt me deeply…
(things from long ago that I thought I had already forgotten)
I had entered a heart-sensitive state,
more prone than usual to taking things negatively,
so I avoided meeting people outside as much as possible
and treasured my time alone.
Finally, since around this morning,
it feels as if the fog over my heart is lifting!
When the Moon returns
to Cancer, the home base of the heart…
it thrusts before you, vividly, the emotions in your heart—
even “what you usually try not to look at or notice.”
Truly a period of “look straight at your heart through a microscope.”
Positive things are always welcome,
and we can receive them at any time,
but there are many “emotions we would rather not receive”
in our hearts, which only surface in periods like this.
Emotions change from moment to moment,
some lie dormant in deep places,
and sometimes what we thought we felt in our heads
is the exact opposite of what lies beneath the surface…
They are quite the “tricky customers,” and hard to pin down.
Today, more than usual,
is “a day when honest feelings come to the surface easily.”
Not only the positive emotions,
but the vaguely dark ones and the murky ones too—
try accepting all of them.
Accept them, and untangle them properly.
Feel them fully, and then let them go.
Of course, it is fine if there are emotions
you really don’t want to face right now, or can’t face yet;
simply note, gently, that you are setting those aside for now.
It may not be a very pleasant kind of “receiving,”
but surely there are hints there for what lies ahead…
So: don’t “pretend it never happened” from the start.
That, I think, is what this new moon is about.
And finally.
There is a movie I would love you to see
when your feelings are a little blue…
The LEGO Movie
On a plane the other day,
“I’m so glad I watched this!!”
is how I felt about this recent film.
At first glance at the cover,
it’s all LEGO characters
and looks like a silly movie,
but I am so glad I saw it.
It really makes you think about “the heart” ☺️
